Questioning #1

McKenzie's "Questioning Toolkit" (questioning toolkit) has a caboodle of high-order questions.  I started to think about the different questions I have about my topic.  I'll definitely come back and revisit this as time goes on and add to the questions...

Essential question (questions that probe for Truth):  Why do we censor books?  What is the motivation for the pulling of a book of the shelf?

Subsidiary questions (questions that help us answer the essential question):  What are books that have been challenged?  What was the libraries' reactions?  What are books that have been banned?  What were the reasons for these?  What, if any, was the reaction of the public and the student body?  Were books ever reinstated?  Did an author ever react?

Hypothetical question (questions to explore possibilities):  What would happen if my library banned Because of Winn-Dixie? What would happen if my library of employment had a book-challenging process that I didn't agree with?

I'm going to do some exploring and also more questioning...
